Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) Competition – 2023 edition
For the 3rd consecutive year we are organizing the Contest dedicated to the International Kangaroo Mother Care Day marked on May 15.
Babies from 5 hospitals spent 333 hours on their mothers’ chests during the KMC Competition 2023.
Congratulations to all the teams in the competition! We hope that the practice of Kangaroo Mother Care will remain a habit in all 5 Neonatology units, for the benefit of parents and premature babies!
Ranking of the KMC Competition, 2023 edition and prizes:
- 1st place – 78 points – NICU department, SCJU Sibiu (prize: exchange of experience for 3 medical staff at Kinderklinika Dritter Orden Passau, Germany)
- 2nd place – 64 points – Bucur Maternity team (prize: 1 scholarship for F.I.N.E. Level 2 training)
- 3rd place – 55 points – Neonatology 1 department team, SCJU Cluj-Napoca (prize: 1 scholarship for F.I.N.E. Level 2 training)
- 4th place – 29 points – NICU department, Life Memorial Hospital Bucharest (prize: 3 copies of “Juniper, the girl born too early”)
- 5th place – 22 points – NICU department, SJU Targoviste (prize: 3 copies of “Juniper, the girl born too early”)
The jury was formed by Corina Croitoru (founder member and president of ARNIS), Ruxandra Nan (vice-president of ARNIS), Ileana Falcescu (member of the Board of Directors of ARNIS), Dr. Roxana Varga (neonatologist, graduate of F.I.N.E. Level 2).
The 3 medical staff, Dr. Ștefan Aurelia, as. Wotsch Diana and ace. Filker Mihaela from the Neonatology department, Sibiu County Emergency Clinical Hospital, visited the most advanced Family Centered Care clinic in Germany, the neonatology department of the Kinderklinik Dritter Orden Passau Hospital, Germany.
